Grab Philippines has officially launched the construction of the Grab Asenso Center in Marikina City, a 1.5-hectare facility designed to support its expanding ecosystem of partners, including drivers, riders, and merchants from its motorcycle taxi platform MOVE IT. The center will offer programs focused on onboarding, skills training, road safety assessments, and digital capacity building, empowering Grab’s community to thrive in the digital economy.
The groundbreaking ceremony was led by Ronald Roda, country head of Grab Philippines, who emphasized the center’s pivotal role in fostering inclusive growth and creating sustainable livelihoods. “The Grab Asenso Center will ensure that our partners are equipped to succeed in today’s digital-first economy,” Roda said, underscoring Grab’s commitment to uplifting local communities and entrepreneurs.
The initiative is part of Grab’s broader pledge to create 500,000 livelihood opportunities. The facility will cater to the needs of both Grab’s driver and merchant-partners and MOVE IT riders, accelerating Grab’s mission to support inclusive economic opportunities.
Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, who attended the event, highlighted the center’s importance in promoting public-private collaboration to modernize mobility. “App-based platforms like Grab are key drivers of inclusive growth,” he noted, praising the initiative’s potential to improve transportation and create dignified livelihoods for workers.
The Grab Asenso Center, set to open in Q1 2025, will replace the current Grab Partner Center and feature expanded facilities, including a larger road safety training area, enhanced onboarding spaces, and specialized upskilling programs for both Grab and MOVE IT partners. The center will serve as a cornerstone for Grab’s mission to drive digital innovation and support the success of its diverse partner community.
