GSIS allocates P514M for typhoon-hit members and pensioners in Luzon

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has earmarked over P514 million as emergency loan program to assist 23,469 members and pensioners in typhoon-affected regions in Luzon. The areas include Quirino, Apayao, Aurora, and parts of Isabela, which were hit by Typhoons Nika, Marce, Ofel, and Pepito and later declared in a state of calamity.

Eligible active members can borrow up to ₱40,000, depending on their existing loan balance, while pensioners can apply for loans if they meet specific conditions, such as a minimum net monthly pension of 25 percent. The loan carries a 6 percent interest rate and a 3-year repayment term.

Applications must be submitted by 20 December for Quirino, Apayao, and Santiago City, and by 24 December for Aurora and Cabagan. Members and pensioners can apply through the GSIS Touch mobile app.
