ComClark Network and Technology Corp., led by businessman Dennis Anthony Uy, remains committed to its bid to take over the Philippines’ air navigation, traffic, and control system despite recent setbacks. Uy confirmed that their proposal had already passed the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center’s review and does not require resubmission, despite the Department of Transportation’s rejection last week.
The ambitious project involves upgrading and modernizing air traffic management infrastructure, including air traffic services (ATS) and communications, navigation, and surveillance (CNS-ATM) facilities. It aims to improve air traffic safety, operational efficiency, and reliability.
Uy emphasized the company’s partnership with Spanish tech firm Indra, whose solutions are used in over 300 control centers worldwide. Indra’s technical team is expected to visit the Philippines in January to showcase their capabilities. The current air traffic control system is deemed outdated, with the country’s radar network covering 70 percent of Philippine airspace.
Despite the setback, ComClark is pressing ahead with its plans to revamp the country’s critical aviation infrastructure.
