SEC expands reach with new office in Lipa City

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched a new extension office in Lipa City, Batangas, to enhance business support and strengthen oversight in key regions. Officially inaugurated on 17 December, the SEC Lipa Extension Office will serve businesses in the Calabarzon and Mimaropa areas, overseeing corporate registration, compliance, and regulatory enforcement.

Chairman Emilio B. Aquino emphasized that the new office aims to improve access to SEC services and enhance the efficiency of corporate regulations. The SEC also seeks to curb fraudulent activities like investment scams and illegal lending, vital to safeguarding business practices in the rapidly growing Southern Tagalog region.

Lipa City’s strategic location and proximity to Metro Manila make it a key hub in the region, which contributes significantly to the national GDP and industrial sector. The SEC move reflects a broader push to stimulate business growth and provide more localized oversight across the country. The Lipa office marks the third extension office opened by the SEC in 2024, joining similar offices in Koronadal and Butuan, bringing the total number of regional offices to 13.
