AirAsia Philippines announced on Thursday that it is ready to accommodate over 300,000 passengers during the peak holiday season, spanning 16 December to 6 January 2025. With a load factor exceeding 80 percent, the airline anticipates a surge in bookings as Filipinos finalize their travel plans to reunite with family and friends for the holidays.
“We expect a significant surge in guest volume this week as many of our kababayans are making last-minute bookings,” said first officer Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines communications and public affairs head. He urged travelers to book flights early, as ticket fares rise closer to departure dates. Dailisan also recommended securing return flights ahead of time, as post-Christmas flights are expected to fill up quickly.
In preparation for the holiday rush, AirAsia has reactivated its “Always READY sa Pasko’t Bagong Taon” initiative, optimizing staff schedules to ensure smooth operations. The airline has bolstered ground staff at check-in counters and introduced “on-standby” personnel, while customer support desks are accessible at key hubs. Additionally, the airline’s Ask Bo feature on the AirAsia MOVE app provides quick assistance for travelers’ inquiries.
AirAsia Philippines, which serves 12 domestic and 13 international destinations, remains a significant player in the ASEAN airline market. Since its launch in 2012, it has continued to grow as part of the AirAsia Group, which operates over 200 aircraft across multiple countries in Southeast Asia.
