Robinsons Land Corp. is set to undergo significant leadership changes next month, signaling both continuity and transformation, following decisions made during the meeting of its board held Monday.
The listed real estate arm of the Gokongwei Group announced key executive shifts, particularly the decision of Robina Gokongwei-Pe leaving the board and of Lance Gokongwei to step down from day-to-day tasks as president and chief executive officer effective 1 February.
While Gokongwei-Pe departure from Robinsons Land follows a broader generational shift within the group, her only brother Lance will stay on as chairman as part of a strategic move to usher in new leadership while maintaining oversight.
Maria Socorro Isabelle V. Aragon-GoBio, a seasoned executive with a strong track record in the real estate and corporate sectors, was appointed by the board as a director, and president and CEO of Robinsons Land. She will now lead Robinsons Land through its next phase of growth and development.
The leadership transition at Robinsons Land is part of broader changes brought about by an earlier decision of the 63-year-old Gokongwei-Pe to step back from the family business.
In July last year, Gokongwei-Pe relinquished her role as president and CEO of Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. in favor of the 47-year-old Stanley C. Co, 47. She assumed chairmanship of the company on January 1, the same day Co’s appointment took effect.
