DMCI Power Corp. (DPC) is set to significantly boost its off-grid energy capacity this year, adding 43 megawatts (MW) across multiple projects, a move that strengthens its presence in the Philippine energy market. The planned expansion represents a 27 percent increase in DPC’s total capacity, underscoring its strategy to meet growing energy demands in underserved regions.
Key developments include a 12 MW wind farm on Semirara Island, DPC’s first renewable energy project, and two 8 MW bunker power plants in Palawan and Masbate. These initiatives are part of DPC’s broader strategy to support local industries and foster sustainable energy solutions, particularly in off-grid areas.
“The addition of these new projects reaffirms our commitment to providing reliable energy solutions to off-grid areas,” said Antonino Gatdula Jr., president of DPC.
The expansion will bring DPC’s total capacity from 159.8 MW to 202.8 MW by mid-2025. The company also reported record-high energy sales of 491.2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) in 2024, driven by increased demand in key off-grid regions.
DPC’s parent company, DMCI Holdings Inc., continues to leverage its energy investments to support economic growth, positioning DPC as a key player in the country’s energy sector.
