PAL expands Clark-Busuanga service to boost tourism and connectivity

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to expand its Clark-Busuanga route in response to growing demand for travel to the popular tourist destination of Coron, Northern Palawan. Starting 1 March, PAL will increase its frequency from four weekly flights to seven, further enhancing connectivity to the region.

This move underscores PAL’s commitment to strengthening its domestic network, particularly in time for the upcoming summer season. Busuanga Airport serves as the gateway to Coron, which is renowned for its stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, crystal-clear lagoons, and world-class diving sites, including the famed Twin Lagoons and Barracuda Lake. As one of the top diving destinations globally, Coron has attracted significant attention from both foreign and local tourists, fueling demand for more travel options.

“By upgrading our Clark-Busuanga service to a daily frequency, we aim to make travel more convenient and affordable for tourists eager to experience the natural wonders of Coron, including its vibrant coral reefs and sunken warship dive sites,” said Rabbi Vincent Ang, president of PAL Express.

With the additional flights, PAL now operates 42 weekly services to Busuanga, including three daily flights from Manila and two daily flights from Cebu. The Clark-Busuanga route will be served by the De Havilland Dash 8-400, an 86-seat aircraft offering efficient travel with near-jet speeds and a quieter inflight experience.

This expansion is part of PAL’s broader strategy to cater to the increasing demand for domestic leisure travel, complementing its existing services to Cebu, Siargao, and Basco, as well as seasonal international routes like the nonstop flights to Seoul Incheon.

With the rise in travel demand, PAL’s investment in additional flights to Busuanga is expected to provide significant commercial benefits by enhancing tourist access to Northern Palawan, thereby supporting the region’s economy and tourism sector.
