DMCI Homes hiring 1,000 workers for Cebu project, boosting local economy

DMCI Homes, a subsidiary of DMCI Holdings, announced on Tuesday that it will hire over 1,000 skilled workers for its inaugural residential condominium development in Cebu City, the Kalea Heights. The project, in Barangay Guadalupe, will significantly contribute to Cebu’s job market, with the company seeking construction workers, engineers, architects, accountants, sales agents, and office staff.

The investment, totaling approximately P24 billion, will create long-term employment opportunities while supporting the local economy. DMCI Homes plans to use a local workforce, including engineers trained in Metro Manila, for the construction. The first phase of the 4.6-hectare project will feature the 41-story Leia Building, with the first unit turnover slated for December 2029. The development promises to offer a blend of urban convenience and nature-inspired living, aligning with Cebu’s growing property demand.

“This is just the beginning,” said DMCI Homes president Alfredo Austria, emphasizing that Cebu is a key area for the company’s expansion. The project’s open space, three times the size of Cebu’s Fuente Osmeña Circle, is set to redefine the city’s condominium landscape, offering ample green areas alongside modern living spaces.

The move highlights DMCI’s commitment to Cebu’s property market and its broader economic significance, positioning the company for further growth in the region.
