Renewable energy developer Joy~Nostalg Solaris Inc. has entered into an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with China Energy Engineering Group Northeast No. 1 Electric Power Construction Co. Ltd. for its 62 megawatt (MW) solar project in Ajuy, Iloilo. The deal, finalized last month, marks a crucial step in Solaris’ efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio.
Construction on the Ajuy solar farm commenced this month, with the project slated for completion by year-end. The solar facility is designed to generate 94.32 gigawatt hours of clean, renewable energy annually, powering over 25,000 households.
While the company has withheld financial details on both the project and the EPC contract, the move is seen as a key milestone in Solaris’ five-year strategy to reach a 1,000 MW renewable energy capacity.
This development follows Solaris’ recent activation of a 6.554 MW utility-scale rooftop solar project in Naic, Cavite, underscoring the company’s growing footprint in the local renewable energy sector.
