BDO Foundation boosts healthcare with rehabilitated RHUs

BDO Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of BDO Unibank, welcomed 2025 with the turnover of four newly rehabilitated rural health units (RHUs) aimed at improving healthcare access for over 96,000 Filipinos. The newly renovated RHUs are located in Capiz, Abra, and Bohol, including the Ivisan and Sapian RHUs in Capiz, Peñarrubia RHU in Abra, and Pilar RHU in Bohol.

This initiative is part of BDO Foundation’s ongoing effort to strengthen primary healthcare services in underserved areas. By working with local government units and municipal health officers, the foundation upgraded both the interior and exterior of these health centers, making them more conducive to healing. Some facilities now feature dedicated spaces for senior citizens, children, and breastfeeding mothers.

With 195 RHUs rehabilitated nationwide, BDO Foundation aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and comfort for Filipinos. According to BDO Foundation President Mario Deriquito, the foundation’s goal is to empower health workers and ensure patients receive better care. The rehabilitation program will continue to expand with the support of BDO Unibank and BDO Network Bank branch officers.
