Globe, GoTyme Bank forge data sharing pact vs combat cybercrime

Telecom giant Globe and digital lender GoTyme Bank have signed a pivotal data sharing agreement (DSA) aimed at enhancing cybersecurity and curbing financial fraud. The partnership will enable Globe and GoTyme to exchange critical information, such as mobile numbers linked to fraudulent activities, to expedite fraud investigations and protect consumers and businesses.

The DSA allows the seamless sharing of sensitive data without the need for lengthy legal processes, significantly improving response times to cybercrime. This collaboration comes in response to the rising threat of online scams, with both companies aligning their efforts to follow recommendations from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the National Privacy Commission.

The move underscores Globe’s commitment to bolstering cybersecurity through strategic partnerships, following previous collaborations with commercial banks and payment providers. It also strengthens GoTyme Bank’s fraud prevention framework, reinforcing its position as a secure digital banking option.

By pooling their resources, the companies prevent scams, streamline investigations, and better protect the digital financial ecosystem, benefiting both consumers and businesses across the sector.
