Appdome extends deep fake detection suite for mobile security

Appdome has expanded its Account Takeover Protection suite with 30 dynamic defense plugins aimed at preventing deepfake attacks on mobile apps. These new plugins are designed to safeguard biometric authentication methods like Apple Face ID, Google Face Recognition, and third-party voice and facial recognition services from AI-generated deepfake and synthetic identity threats.

As facial recognition becomes increasingly critical for secure authentication, Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance, and fraud prevention, Appdome’s new defense capabilities address the growing sophistication of deepfake technology. Deepfake attacks, which can manipulate facial recognition processes through virtual cameras or synthetic video, have surged in the last year, outpacing traditional authentication methods.

Appdome’s solution integrates with Android and iOS apps, requiring no code or manual setup, and provides real-time detection of various attack vectors, including face ID bypass, deepfake apps, and voice cloning. This approach enhances the integrity of biometric workflows, preventing attackers from exploiting vulnerabilities in both device hardware and authentication systems.

By enabling mobile app developers and businesses to leverage these defenses, Appdome ensures they can protect against increasingly advanced AI-driven fraud attempts. The solution continuously evolves to adapt to new deepfake tactics, making it an essential tool for mobile brands and authentication vendors aiming to safeguard users against identity fraud.
