Wyn Power Corp. breaks ground on P1.5B solar project in Batangas

Wyn Power Corp. has started construction on a 50-megawatt solar photovoltaic project in Barangay Bukal, Taysan, Batangas costing P1.5 billion. The 48-hectare solar plant will generate up to 74 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy annually, supporting industries and consumers served by Batangas II Electric Cooperative (Batelec II) and surrounding cooperatives.

The project is part of the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Auction Program, with a green energy tariff of P4.10 per kilowatt-hour secured upon completion. It is expected to provide a reliable, sustainable power source while creating local jobs.

Construction is set to begin soon, with financing and permitting processes completed. Wyn Power’s previous projects include the Sepalco solar plant in Eastern Visayas and rooftop installations in Batangas and Laguna. The company aims to play a significant role in the country’s transition to renewable energy.
