The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) has partnered with the US-based National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) to provide advanced digital forensics training for law enforcers. The training, taking place from 10 to 14 March at the National Cybercrime Hub in Bonifacio Global City, will equip approximately 30 participants from the CICC, Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group, and other agencies with essential skills to combat digital crime.
CICC executive director Alexander K. Ramos said the training would enhance the understanding of cybercrimes and improve the ability to acquire and analyze digital evidence. “This regional training will provide Philippine law enforcers and regulators a better understanding of cybercrimes and how to acquire digital evidence,” Ramos said.
The program, delivered by expert instructors from NW3C’s US headquarters, will cover both basic and advanced digital forensic techniques, including strategies for handling encrypted devices and cloud-based evidence. By focusing on these critical skills, the training aims to bolster the Philippines’ capacity to tackle increasingly sophisticated cybercrimes.
“This training will not only capacitate our agents and law enforcers but also boost our success rate in the prosecution of cybercriminals,” Ramos added, highlighting the importance of the initiative for improving law enforcement capabilities.
The NW3C, a congressionally funded non-profit organization, has long been a leader in providing digital forensics training to law enforcement agencies across the United States and internationally. The instructors are nationally and internationally certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST), ensuring a high level of expertise.
