    Nickel Asia partners with Mabuhay Energy for clean power supply

    Nickel Asia Corp. renewable energy arm Emerging Power Inc. (EPI), has partnered with Mabuhay Energy Corp. (MECO) for the supply of clean electricity. The deal involves power generated from EPI’s 72.128 MW Subic New PV power plant and the forthcoming 70 MW Cawag solar power plant, with subsidiaries Jobin SQM Inc. (JSI) and Northern Palawan Power Generation Corp. providing a portion of the energy to MECO.

    EPI CEO Roy Joseph Fernandez expressed the company’s commitment to supporting the country’s renewable energy goals and enhancing energy security. Although the specific quantity involved in the deal was not disclosed, this collaboration marks a significant step in expanding MECO’s clean energy offerings.

    MECO, a subsidiary of the Aviva Group, has been providing customizable energy solutions since 2017. EPI also has solar facilities in Subic and is actively developing new projects, including geothermal pilots in Mindoro and Biliran, potentially adding up to 70 MW of renewable power.
