Cebu Pacific (CEB) issued a safety advisory Tuesday on the proper carriage and use of power banks onboard, in line with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines’ guidelines. The airline emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations to ensure the safety of all passengers.
According to the airline, passengers may carry power banks with a capacity of up to 100Wh. For power banks between 100Wh and 160Wh, prior approval from the check-in counter is required.
For safety reasons, Cebu Pacific clarified that the use and charging of power banks during the flight are strictly prohibited. Passengers must ensure that their power banks are carried as hand luggage and stored securely in their pocket or the seat pocket in front of them.
Additionally, the airline reminded passengers that power banks and spare lithium batteries must never be stored in the overhead bin or under the seat. They should be packed securely—using methods like taping terminals, placing them in original boxes, or storing them in plastic bags or pouches—to minimize any safety risks while flying.
This advisory underscores the airline’s commitment to maintaining high standards of passenger safety.
