The Hapag Movement, Globe’s hunger alleviation initiative, has surpassed its goal of aiding 100,000 Filipino families—achieving a milestone one year ahead of schedule. By 2024, the program supported over 120,000 families, thanks to contributions from Globe and TM customers, corporate donors, and mobilization partners.
Originally aiming to reach 100,000 families by 2025, the program raised Php 25.37 million in 2024 alone, bringing the total funds raised since 2022 to Php 53 million. This funding has been used to provide meals to families facing food insecurity.
“The overwhelming support for the Hapag Movement reflects the dedication of individuals, businesses, and organizations that share our vision of addressing involuntary hunger in the Philippines,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe chief sustainability and corporate communications officer.
The initiative has collaborated with several organizations, including the Ayala Foundation, Scholars of Sustenance, and World Vision, and in 2024 added three new partners—Rise Against Hunger, the UN World Food Program, and Project PEARLS. These partnerships helped expand the movement’s reach to even more communities in need.
Notably, 1.1 million Globe and TM subscribers contributed P11.67 million through the GlobeOne app, while 1,871 Globe employees participated in fundraising activities. Additional campaigns, such as the “Ibalik ang Sarap ng Pasko” holiday drive with SM and the Gourmet Giving Series with fine dining events, further boosted donations. The initiative also engaged fan communities, including those of Blackpink and BTS, and secured support from the Rotary Club of Makati Business District and other organizations.
Looking ahead, the Hapag Movement aims to expand its livelihood training programs and focus on addressing child stunting, ensuring that Filipino children receive essential nutrition. As it continues to grow, the program encourages ongoing support through the GlobeOne app and GCash to help sustain its impactful work.
