Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Friday announced the relaunch of its aviation school in collaboration with global flight training provider Airways Aviation Group, aiming to deliver world-class pilot education aligned with the highest international standards.
After a rigorous selection process, PAL chose Airways Aviation’s Australia-based academy for its proven excellence in safety-focused, competency-based training. This partnership underscores PAL’s commitment to operational excellence, workforce development, and cultivating a new generation of globally competitive aviators.
“Airways Aviation met our stringent requirements and demonstrated their robust emphasis on safety culture and competency-based training methodologies,” said Capt. Stanley K. Ng, PAL president and COO. He emphasized the airline’s focus on equipping cadets with the skills and global mindset to face future aviation challenges.
PAL OIC EVP–general counsel Carlos Luis Fernandez said the revitalized training program aims to develop pilots who are not only highly skilled but also globally conscious contributors to a sustainable aviation industry.
Airways Aviation founder and chairman Romy Hawatt called the partnership a “testament to shared values” and an investment in the future of aviation. The first batch of cadets will begin initial training in the Philippines, followed by advanced instruction at Airways Aviation’s Australian campuses.
The initiative also strengthens aviation training ties between the Philippines and Australia, reinforcing both nations’ roles in building a safer, more resilient global aviation workforce.
