Petron Corp., the oil subsidiary of San Miguel Corp., announced Monday that its director, Horacio Ramos—former Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)—has passed away.
Ramos died on April 17. He had served as a director of Petron since May 2018.
Prior to his appointment as DENR Secretary, Ramos was Director of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau. He also served as President of Clariden Holdings, Inc., and held a non-executive director position at San Miguel Corp.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Mapúa Institute of Technology in 1967 and completed his graduate studies at the University of New South Wales in 1978.
