    Security Bank backs solar shift with Solenergy

    Security Bank Corp. has partnered with Solenergy Systems Inc. to provide solar rooftop solutions and sustainable energy options for businesses across the Philippines, marking a significant move in corporate renewable energy adoption.

    Under the agreement, Security Bank will offer customized financing solutions to support businesses investing in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and other green technologies. Solenergy, a leading renewable energy provider, will supply, install, and maintain the systems, aiming to help clients lower energy costs, reduce carbon footprints, and align with the country’s clean energy goals.

    “This partnership empowers businesses to pursue sustainability while enhancing financial efficiency,” said Eduardo Olbes, executive vice president, chief financial officer, and sustainability committee chairman at Security Bank. “We’re proud to provide affordable access to clean energy through flexible financing.”

    The collaboration is anchored in Security Bank’s Sustainable Finance Framework, reflecting its broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) agenda. By aligning lending strategies with renewable initiatives, the bank reinforces its position as a key player in sustainable finance.

    Solenergy president and CEO Tom Peebles emphasized the initiative’s national significance: “We are thrilled to join forces with Security Bank to drive renewable energy adoption and foster sustainable practices among Philippine enterprises.”

    The partnership was formalized during a signing ceremony at Security Bank Centre, highlighting the bank’s aim to be a preferred sustainability partner in the business sector. EVP and wholesale banking segment head John Cary Ong added, “We’re helping clients future-proof operations and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.”

    The initiative is expected to catalyze commercial investment in renewable energy, boosting both economic and environmental outcomes for businesses nationwide.
