Concreat Holdings Philippines Inc., a majority-owned subsidiary of DMCI Holdings, said the new production line at its Solid Cement Plant in Antipolo City became fully operational in April. The expansion boosts annual capacity by 26 percent to 7.2 million metric tons.
Concreat, formerly known as Cemex Holdings, said the new production line passed all necessary confirmatory tests, ensuring full compliance with both operational standards and product quality benchmarks.
“This expansion marks a pivotal moment in Concreat’s turnaround strategy. With higher capacity, a more efficient kiln, and the use of Semirara coal, we are enhancing our operational efficiency while reducing production costs,” said Herbert M. Consunji, president and chief executive officer of Concreat.
The upgrade increases Solid Cement Plant’s annual capacity from 1.9 million tons to 3.4 million tons, strengthening its ability to supply the cement needed for essential infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and homes. The expansion is also expected to generate both direct and indirect jobs in surrounding communities, alongside supporting local resilience through skills training, employee development, and livelihood programs.
