Lagonglong Port project completed, boosting Mindanao trade and jobs

Aboitiz Construction announced Friday the completion of the Lagonglong Port in Misamis Oriental for AMADI MGT Terminals Inc., marking a major milestone in infrastructure development aimed at boosting Mindanao’s economic activity.

The new private commercial port features dock facilities, storage for perishable goods, and modern loading equipment. With an annual handling capacity of 3.3 million metric tons of bulk cargo, the port is expected to streamline the transport of agricultural products and raw materials, enhance regional trade, and generate employment in the local community.

“This is more than just a port—we’re building economic momentum and jobs,” said Aboitiz Construction COO Ramez Sihom. “Our partnership with AMADI reinforces our shared vision for community and business advancement.”

The 250-meter berth with a -21-meter seabed depth can accommodate larger vessels, optimizing cargo operations and strengthening trade infrastructure in Northern Mindanao.

In parallel, Aboitiz Construction is expanding marine works in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, through a new berth project with DICT Bulk Terminal Inc. at the Davao International Container Terminal, set for completion this year. This will be DICT’s fifth berth and will focus on cement shipments, further addressing infrastructure demands in the region.

Aboitiz Construction’s track record includes four DICT berths and major shipbuilding infrastructure in Balamban, Cebu, showcasing its consistent role in advancing Philippine logistics and industrial growth.
