PLDT Global Corp., the international arm of the country’s leading telecommunications and digital services provider PLDT Inc., has partnered with U.S.-based fintech company Venio to expand its digital offerings to overseas Filipinos (OF), particularly in the United States.
Central to the partnership is the promotion and distribution of Tindahan ni Bossing (TinBo), PLDT Global’s all-in-one digital platform tailored for Filipinos abroad. TinBo provides essential digital services, including Smart Virtual Numbers (SVNs)—SIM-less Philippine mobile numbers enabling users to receive OTPs from local banks and e-wallets, along with calls and texts from the Philippines. The app also supports bill payments, e-vouchers, and other financial services tailored to the diaspora’s needs.
Venio, known for its expertise in payment and remittance technologies, will act as PLDT’s B2B distributor, leveraging its digital marketplace, retail network, and reseller partnerships across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UAE. The collaboration is designed to improve accessibility and drive adoption of TinBo among millions of overseas Filipinos.
“This collaboration will not only increase the adoption of the TinBo app but also expand the availability of our digital and telecom services through Venio’s established distribution network,” said PLDT Global president and CEO Albert V. Villa-Real.
Venio CEO Warren Platt emphasized the commercial synergy, noting, “Our expertise in fintech solutions, combined with PLDT Global’s robust digital services, will create new opportunities for Filipinos in the U.S. and beyond.”
From a corporate perspective, the alliance enhances PLDT Global’s international commercial footprint and diversifies Venio’s service offerings through high-demand Filipino-focused digital solutions. For retail partners, the collaboration unlocks new monetization opportunities by integrating PLDT’s services into existing business models targeting the Filipino diaspora.
The move aligns with PLDT’s broader mission to serve Filipinos worldwide, underscoring a significant commercial step in bridging digital gaps for one of the world’s largest expatriate communities.
