Cebu Pacific flies 2.3M in April as travel demand soars

Cebu Pacific on Thursday reported an 18.3 percent year-on-year increase in passenger traffic for April 2025, carrying 2.3 million travelers, underscoring sustained demand for air travel and bolstering the Gokongwei-led carrier’s post-pandemic recovery trajectory.

The airline’s April seat load factor (SLF) reached 83.8 percent, supported by a 20.1 percent expansion in seat capacity. Domestic traffic rose 13.8 percent to 1.67 million passengers, while international volume surged 32.2 percent to 616,000—outpacing supply growth and reflecting a robust rebound in regional travel corridors.

From January to April, Cebu Pacific flew 9.2 million passengers, a 24.2 percent increase year-on-year. The SLF averaged 84.6 percent across the period, with total seat capacity rising 23.6 percent to 10.9 million. Notably, both domestic and international segments grew by over 24 percent.

“Passenger traffic performance remains strong with continued growth in volumes and high seat load factors,” said Cebu Pacific CFO Mark Cezar. He highlighted that international passenger growth had exceeded 32 percent year-on-year, signaling resilient demand across key routes.

Cezar also reaffirmed the airline’s strategy of capacity optimization to meet surging demand, despite ongoing headwinds from engine maintenance cycles and global supply chain pressures.

Cebu Pacific operates one of the youngest aircraft fleets globally, with 99 aircraft, and boasts the widest network in the Philippines—serving 37 domestic and 26 international destinations. The airline’s latest performance adds commercial momentum ahead of the traditionally strong second quarter, reinforcing confidence in sustained travel recovery across the region.
