ACEN lands green energy deal with Shangri-La Tower

ACEN Corp. retail electricity arm ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES) has secured a new contract with St. Francis Shangri-La Place to supply the luxury residential tower’s common areas with renewable energy sourced from its portfolio of solar, wind, and geothermal power plants.

The transaction marks another step in ACEN’s push to expand its clean energy footprint, aligning with its ambition to reach 20,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

While specific supply volumes and capacity details were not disclosed, ACEN estimates that the switch to renewable energy will offset approximately 2,200 tons of carbon dioxide annually—comparable to emissions from a car driving over 8.8 million kilometers or the carbon absorption of 101,000 mature trees.

“We are proud to partner with ACEN RES in this important initiative,” said Joseph Salting, head of property management at Shang Property Management Services. “This transition supports our commitment to sustainable living for our residents.”

ACEN vice president for legal, John Henry Liquete, emphasized the broader impact of the agreement, calling it “an example for other businesses in embracing renewable energy as a means of contributing to the country’s goal of increasing the share of renewables in the energy mix.”

ACEN currently operates renewable energy projects across 11 markets including Australia, India, and the United States, solidifying its position as a key player in the region’s energy transition.
