Aboitiz Foods is banking on digital innovation to drive greater operational efficiency across its animal nutrition business, following the rollout of a proprietary platform called Zoogle.
Launched in December 2024, Zoogle is designed to enhance productivity and standardize field operations by giving sales and technical teams seamless, on-demand access to critical data. The tool consolidates farm management protocols, feeding guides, product specs, and performance calculators into a unified system—replacing previously fragmented resources such as spreadsheets, printed materials, and siloed digital folders.
“In the past, our teams often used their own frameworks… Zoogle removes that fragmentation and ensures that everyone… is working from one clear, validated, and consistent knowledge base,” said Dr. Alvin John Oliveros, Aboitiz Foods’ product development manager.
Developed by the company’s local Nutrition, Innovation and Technical Research team in collaboration with Business IT Solutions, Zoogle was built specifically for Pilmico, Aboitiz Foods’ food and agribusiness arm in the Philippines. Since its deployment, the platform has improved field efficiency across species including hogs, rabbits, broilers, layers, ducks, and quail. Future updates will expand coverage to milkfish, tilapia, and gamefowl.
The platform also features offline capabilities tailored for teams working in remote or low-connectivity areas.
This digital push comes as Aboitiz Foods eyes international expansion. The company recently announced that it is assessing opportunities in East Malaysia, including a possible joint venture to establish a feed-to-farm model. Plans are also underway to build R&D farms in Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
With operations in eight countries and a total annual feed mill capacity of 4.2 million metric tons as of end-2024, Aboitiz Foods—parent company to Pilmico and Gold Coin—is positioning itself as a major regional player in the agrifood sector.
