InLife acquires 100% of Generali PH

Insular Life (InLife), the country’s largest Filipino-owned life insurance company, has completed its acquisition of 100 percent of Generali Life Assurance Philippines (Generali), marking a major corporate milestone in the country’s insurance industry. The transaction, finalized after securing approvals from the Insurance Commission and the Philippine Competition Commission, underscores InLife’s strategic expansion and its commitment to reshaping the local insurance landscape.

The acquisition was formalized in a signing ceremony held at the InLife Building in Makati. “This acquisition represents more than just the combination of two companies; it’s the coming together of two cultures, two legacies, and two teams committed to a common purpose,” said InLife executive chairperson Nina D. Aguas.

Generali will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary under InLife but will align with a unified corporate strategy focused on innovation, comprehensive life and health protection, and an enhanced customer experience. Existing services, contracts, and contacts are expected to remain unchanged during the integration phase.

Aguas emphasized that the union is designed to “deliver exceptional customer experiences” and to build a more agile, customer-focused organization prepared for the evolving demands of the insurance market. She also announced the appointment of Noemi G. Azura, InLife’s corporate solutions head and former Insular Health Care CEO, as president and CEO of the new subsidiary, effective immediately.

“This move strengthens our foothold in the group insurance and health services sectors,” Aguas added, highlighting the synergy created by the merger of InLife and Generali’s capabilities.

The integration process will be collaborative, requiring strong stakeholder engagement and a shared commitment to a cohesive corporate culture. With this acquisition, InLife aims to reinforce its leadership and continue guiding Filipinos toward “a Lifetime for Good.”
