Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has announced a strategic overhaul of its leadership team aimed at reinforcing its transformation into a technology-driven company and securing long-term commercial growth.
At the company’s annual stockholders’ and board organizational meetings, Converge confirmed the retirement of chief operations officer Jesus “Boboy” C. Romero, effective June 30, after nine years of leading key operational milestones, including managing the company’s exponential growth during the pandemic. CEO and co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy praised Romero as “a key figure in translating surging demand into lasting value.”
Succeeding Romero is Benjamin Rex Emilio B. Azada, a veteran executive with prior roles as Converge’s chief strategy officer and most recently chief commercial officer. Azada played a pivotal role in delivering a 15 percent revenue increase in 2024, driven by a 20 percent expansion in the residential subscriber base. He will assume the COO post on 1 July 2025.
“Benj’s leadership is essential as we pivot to beyond-connectivity solutions, leveraging AI, IoT, and cloud technologies,” Uy said, underscoring the company’s push to become a full-fledged tech enterprise.
Azada’s commercial portfolio will be transitioned to senior leaders supporting growth initiatives, while his sustainability responsibilities will pass to lawyer Laurice Esteban-Tuason. Esteban-Tuason now serves as corporate sustainability officer alongside her roles as compliance and data protection officer, recognized recently by ISOG aor excellence in data privacy.
In a parallel move, treasurer Christine Renee Blabagno has been appointed chief risk officer, a dual role aimed at enhancing strategic risk oversight in an evolving digital and regulatory landscape. Blabagno brings over two decades of financial leadership experience, including senior roles in telecommunications and enterprise risk management.
“These leadership adjustments are aligned with our evolution into a tech company,” said president and co-founder Maria Grace Uy. “We are aligning executive talent with strategic priorities to ensure agility, innovation, and sustainable growth in a rapidly changing environment.”
