MSpectrum, Inc., the solar energy arm of Meralco, has completed a 120-kilowatt peak (kWp) rooftop solar project for DHL Supply Chain, powering the logistics company’s training center in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
The system is expected to generate around 171,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable energy annually, reducing DHL’s carbon emissions by approximately 121 tons per year. This is equivalent to planting over 5,500 trees or cutting more than 482,000 kilometers of vehicle travel.
“We are looking at building a few more sites powered by solar energy. It just makes so much sense, not just for this generation, but for future generations,” said Bevan Williams, DHL country managing director. “We’ll continue to invest in solar panels and look forward to expanding this partnership with MSpectrum.”
The solar project reflects DHL’s commitment to sustainable logistics and energy efficiency as it scales up its Philippine operations. It also builds on an earlier collaboration with Meralco that involved energizing DHL’s largest facility in Laguna, supported by Meralco’s Power Consult unit for energy optimization.
MSpectrum president and chief executive officer Ma. Cecilia M. Domingo lauded DHL’s sustainability leadership, saying the project is “a meaningful step toward our shared vision of a future where solar rooftops are a common sight across the Philippines.”
Meralco first vice president Charina P. Padua emphasized the broader impact of the partnership: “Together, we drive progress and productivity that ripple far beyond our individual roles—creating opportunities and contributing to a more resilient and inclusive nation.”
The project strengthens Meralco’s role in advancing clean energy and nation-building through strategic partnerships.
