In a major step toward digital transformation, the Municipality of Tanay has partnered with GCash, the country’s leading finance app, to launch the province’s first fully integrated digital payment system.
The partnership introduces key GCash services—including Scan-To-Pay (STP), BillsPay, Fund Disbursement Service (FDS), and GCash-VISA cards—enabling Tanay residents to conduct financial transactions such as paying taxes or receiving government aid without the need for costly travel to municipal offices.
“By digitizing services, we not only save our citizens time and money, but also empower them economically,” Tanay officials said, noting potential savings of up to P200 in transportation costs per visit.
The rollout positions Tanay as the first municipality in Rizal to adopt digital financial aid disbursement through GCash, a move that could set a precedent for neighboring towns.
GCash emphasized that the initiative aligns with its mission to promote financial inclusion and sustainable development, adding that the success in Tanay could pave the way for broader adoption of digital finance technologies across the province.
This digital shift signals a broader trend toward cashless governance and is expected to accelerate economic participation in rural communities, while simplifying everyday transactions for residents.
