Energy infrastructure developer Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Co. of Manila Inc. (AG&P) has formally expressed interest in supporting the country’s offshore wind (OSW) sector, according to the Department of Energy (DOE).
In a letter of commitment in May this year, AG&P signaled readiness to provide port infrastructure, logistics, fabrication, and workforce development—key enablers for scaling up OSW deployment. The move aligns with DOE’s push to mobilize private sector capabilities for the country’s energy transition.
DOE undersecretary Giovanni Carlo Bacordo, who oversees port development for OSW, visited AG&P’s Bauan, Batangas facility to assess technical readiness. AG&P presented its end-to-end service model including pre-assembly staging, floating platform fabrication, and operations and maintenance logistics.
Bacordo emphasized the private sector’s role in accelerating renewable goals, citing AG&P’s capabilities as vital infrastructure support.
AG&P, which also operates the Linseed Field LNG import terminal, is positioned as a critical player in the RE value chain. This aligns with DOE’s support of 16 frontrunner OSW projects, targeting 16.7 GW of potential capacity, with construction slated by 2027 and generation by 2028.
