SEC deploys AI chatbot to answer public queries on regulations

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched SEC AInnovation, an AI-powered digital platform designed to assist the public with real-time queries on the agency’s rules, regulations, and processes.

The chatbot interface uses artificial intelligence and natural language processing to synthesize and simplify legal information from laws such as the Revised Corporation Code and Securities Regulation Code, as well as the SEC’s circulars, advisories, and services.

According to SEC Chairman Emilio B. Aquino, the tool reflects the agency’s push to make regulatory services “faster, smarter and more accessible,” highlighting its capability to communicate in English, Filipino, Bisaya, and other local languages. Aquino described the initiative as “a fusion of AI and innovation.”

The platform aims to minimize the need for manual research and physical visits by the public. In addition to text-based interactions, it supports voice input and topic-based navigation for greater accessibility.
