In celebration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day, Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) will offer free rides to LRT-1 passengers on June 12 during peak hours — 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The initiative, part of LRMC’s corporate social responsibility efforts, underscores its support for national pride while providing tangible benefits to daily commuters and tourists. The free rides aim to encourage public participation in Independence Day activities across Metro Manila and promote easy access to cultural and historical landmarks near LRT-1 stations.
Passengers with beep cards can tap as usual at the AFCS gates during the designated hours without deductions. Those without beep cards can claim free Single Journey Tickets (SJTs) at any LRT-1 teller booth. Ticket Vending Machines will remain operational for Stored Value Card transactions.
LRT-1 will follow its regular holiday schedule on June 12, with first trains departing at 5:00 AM and last trips at 9:30 PM (Dr. Santos) and 9:45 PM (Fernando Poe Jr.).
As the “heritage line,” LRT-1 offers direct access to various museums and historical sites, making it a convenient and meaningful choice for those looking to commemorate Independence Day.
