LTFRB suspends 15 Florida Buses over highway racing incident

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), under the Department of Transportation (DOTr), has imposed a 30-day suspension on 15 Florida Bus Co. buses after their drivers were caught racing on the National Highway in Cagayan on June 8, 2025—a dangerous act that went viral on the internet.

In line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to prioritize road safety, Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon rejected the company’s apology, emphasizing that no harm occurring does not excuse reckless behavior.

Additionally, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspended the involved drivers’ licenses for 90 days, mandated drug tests for all company drivers, and warned that any violation of the sanctions would be met with severe consequences. This decisive action underscores a firm transport policy stance against unsafe driving practices, reinforcing accountability among public utility vehicle operators and aiming to protect commuters and motorists nationwide.
