PLDT Inc., the Philippines’ largest fully integrated telecommunications network, recently released its 2024 Annual and Sustainability Report, combining business results with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosures for the first time.
The report, called “AI and the New Generation of Leaders”, also outlined PLDT’s position on the evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI) in business and society. It details how the company is investing in digital infrastructure, advancing responsible leadership, and creating long-term value for stakeholders through sound governance and sustainability practices.
The report covers the performance of PLDT and its key subsidiaries—Smart Communications, ePLDT, VITRO, PLDT Global, and Multisys—along with affiliate Maya Philippines and the PLDT-Smart Foundation. It was reviewed and approved by PLDT’s Governance, Nomination, and Sustainability Committee and Audit Committee.
PLDT aligns its reporting with international standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), SASB, TCFD, TNFD, the UN Global Compact, and GSMA ESG Metrics for Mobile. The publication also includes an Integrated Annual Corporate Governance Report and demonstrates contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Audited financial statements and verified ESG metrics were assured by SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co. (SGV), a member firm of Ernst & Young Global.
Reflecting its progress, PLDT was named to the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025, the only Philippine company among 780 firms worldwide recognized for leadership in ESG performance and disclosure.
The report captures how PLDT is navigating digital transformation while strengthening its commitment to ethical, inclusive, and future-oriented business.
