Filipina racing driver Bianca Bustamante has joined the American-owned team CUPRA KIRO as a Development Driver for the FIA Formula E World Championship. This opportunity follows her impressive P3 finish at the 2024 Formula E all-women test held at the Circuito del Jarama in Spain late last year.
Bustamante will make her debut in CUPRA KIRO’s signature copper and fluorescent yellow livery at the 2025 Jakarta E-Prix, scheduled for June 20–21. There, she will be shadowing the team and its full-time drivers, Dan Ticktum and David Beckmann, while integrating into the team structure.
Bustamante’s first on-track appearance for CUPRA KIRO will be at the Berlin E-Prix rookie test on July 14, 2025, held at the challenging Tempelhof Street Circuit, a venue known for its raw and unforgiving nature, set on the grounds of the former Tempelhof Airport. In preparation, she will undergo intensive simulator training and technical briefings.
Alongside her new responsibilities in Formula E, the 20-year-old will continue to race in the GB3 Championship, building her experience in single-seaters and steadily progressing on the path toward her ultimate goal: a seat in Formula 1.
