Globe expands Sarangani network with 40+ cell sites

Globe has significantly expanded its network infrastructure in Sarangani, now operating over 40 cell sites across the province. This development enhances connectivity in agricultural, coastal, and upland areas, reflecting the telco’s strategic push to support one of Mindanao’s most dynamic economic zones.

Sarangani, a key player in Mindanao’s agri-aqua sector, produced 160,000 metric tons of corn in 2024 and continues to thrive in aquaculture, notably in Glan. This dual-sector strength, along with rising activity in tourism, construction, and MSMEs, has amplified the demand for reliable digital infrastructure.

“This isn’t just about signal bars—it’s about real impact,” said Al Siao, network technical lead at Globe. “From students attending online classes to fishermen selling their catch digitally, we’re building a network that empowers everyday life and commerce.”

Globe also deployed a Cell Site on Wheels (COW) during the SarBay 2025 festival in Glan, supporting high data traffic and enabling uninterrupted mobile service for attendees and vendors.

The telco is accelerating 4G upgrades and user experience improvements province-wide, aiming to translate connectivity into tangible benefits for communities and local economies.
