Water line upgrade to benefit 22,000+ in SJDM

PrimeWater San Jose del Monte (SJDM), in partnership with the San Jose del Monte Water District, is set to complete a major transmission line extension project in Bulacan by the end of June, marking a significant milestone in the city’s water infrastructure development.

The project, which connects Barangay Tungkong Mangga to Barangay Gaya-Gaya Segment 1, aims to improve water access in higher elevation zones where supply has been limited. Once completed, the extension is expected to provide 16 to 24 hours of water service daily to affected areas, directly benefiting around 18,000 existing customers and supporting up to 4,000 new service connections.

PrimeWater SJDM emphasized the project’s strategic role in expanding the city’s water distribution capacity, noting ongoing upgrades to storage and transmission systems. “We are optimistic that once completed, the significant impact will be felt by our subscribers,” the utility said in a statement.

The joint venture has already raised the city’s daily water supply output by 43.6 percent, from 85.223 million liters per day (MLD) to 122.356 MLD. This development follows the construction of a second interconnection point in Barangay Muzon Poblacion, which helped resolve supply issues in San Jose del Monte’s most densely populated area, benefiting around 28,000 connections.

The project underscores the commercial and operational gains of public-private partnerships in addressing urban utility challenges.
