Top agencies recognized for settling long-overdue premiums

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) honored government agencies that made the highest payments toward long-overdue social insurance premiums—some dating back to October 2007—during its Stakeholders’ Dialogue held at Sequoia Hotel Manila Bay.

The awards recognize payments collected throughout 2024 and 2025 for obligations up to December 2024. In the large agency category, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Supreme Court of the Philippines, and the DepEd Division of Taguig-Pateros (Elementary Level) led the top payers. Among medium-sized agencies, GSIS recognized the Development Bank of the Philippines (Main Office), Pag-IBIG Fund (Main Office), and the University of the Philippines Manila. For small agencies, awards went to the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority, DepEd Division of Pasay (High School Level), DepEd Division of Muntinlupa (High School Level), and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority.

“These agencies stepped up and fulfilled their obligations, some of which date back more than a decade. That’s public service in action,” said GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso. “By settling what’s due, they help protect the future benefits of their employees and strengthen trust in the system.”

The recognition reflects GSIS’s continuing effort to engage stakeholders in safeguarding the pension fund. The dialogue also covered updates on housing programs, digital transformation, financial literacy, and insurance services.
