CebPac renews IOSA registration, bolstering safety credentials amid expansion

Cebu Pacific (CEB), the country’s largest carrier, has successfully renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration—its first under the enhanced, data-driven risk-based IOSA program introduced by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The renewal underscores the airline’s robust safety systems and operational discipline as it accelerates fleet modernization and route expansion. First registered in 2018, CEB has maintained IOSA certification through successive biennial audits.

“This renewal reflects the strength of our internal safety processes and the culture of excellence we uphold,” said Javier Massot, CEB chief operations officer.

The renewed registry further solidifies CEB’s global standing; it was recently named one of the world’s Safest Low-Cost Carriers by AirlineRatings.com, recognizing its solid safety track record and modern fleet investments.

Strategically aligned with its safety-driven growth, CEB signed a landmark deal in 2024 with Airbus for up to 152 A320neo aircraft—the largest aircraft purchase in Philippine aviation history. The airline is targeting an all-NEO fleet for greater fuel efficiency and sustainability.

CEB continues to expand its footprint, having added 28 new routes in 2024. By April 2025, new international services included Cebu–Ho Chi Minh, Iloilo–Bangkok, and Manila–Sapporo. The airline is on track to carry 30 million passengers by end-2025.

Operating the country’s widest flight network, CEB serves 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
