U.S. Embassy strengthens provincial ties with Iloilo visit

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand engagement beyond Metro Manila, representatives from the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines visited Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI)’s bottling plant in San Miguel, Iloilo, under the Embassy’s Provincial Engagement Program.

Led by vice consul Sami Ith, Established Opinion Leaders Exchanges and Alumni coordinator Daniel Chua, and senior protocol specialist May Obusan, the Embassy delegation met with PCPPI executives and toured the facility to gain insights into local operations of U.S.-affiliated companies and their economic impact in the region.

“This visit reaffirms the importance of collaboration between the private sector and international partners like the U.S. Embassy,” said PCPPI chief ESG officer Atty. Carina Bayon. She emphasized the plant’s role in supporting communities through employment and sustainable practices.

The visit underscores U.S. policy to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties across the Philippines’ regions, highlighting the strategic role of American businesses in promoting inclusive growth beyond the capital.
