Philippine Airlines (PAL) will increase its Manila-Seattle service to five weekly flights starting 25 November 2025, up from the current three, as part of its strategic push to strengthen air connectivity between the Philippines and the United States.
The move comes just a year after the Lucio Tan-led carrier launched the Seattle route in October last year, currently the only nonstop link between the Philippines and the U.S. Pacific Northwest. The expanded schedule underscores the route’s commercial success and growing demand, particularly among business travelers, Filipino-Americans, and tourists.
“Our decision to increase frequencies to Seattle highlights the importance of the U.S. market to the Philippine Airlines global network,” said PAL president Richard Nuttall. He noted Seattle’s role as a key gateway, enhanced by PAL’s partnership with Alaska Airlines, which provides wider U.S. domestic connectivity.
Nuttall emphasized that the route expansion supports both leisure and business travel, helping foster trade and tourism while also enabling more frequent family reunions.
In addition to passenger service, the added flights will raise cargo capacity by up to 40 tons weekly, connecting goods from the Philippines to key U.S. markets via interline and trucking links.
PAL operates the Seattle route using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, configured with 42 Business Class and 328 Economy Class seats.
The Seattle expansion increases PAL’s North American footprint to eight cities, joining New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto, Honolulu, and Guam.
