Philippine Seven Corp. (PSC), the exclusive licensee of 7-Eleven in the Philippines, has named Jose Victor Paterno as chairman of the board, marking a significant leadership shift with both corporate and strategic implications.
Paterno, formerly president and CEO, succeeds Jose T. Pardo, who now serves as chair emeritus and advisory board member. His elevation comes as PSC targets aggressive nationwide expansion, particularly in the Visayas and Mindanao, and underscores a continuity in leadership during a critical growth phase.
Longtime operations head Richard Lee has been appointed president, taking over day-to-day management. Paterno emphasized Lee’s deep operational alignment with PSC’s regional partners, notably 7-Eleven Taiwan, whose collaboration has been key to PSC’s local market success.
PSC plans to expand its store network from over 4,000 to 5,000 branches by 2026, backed by a revised P5.5 billion capital expenditure plan. The company cited a strategic focus on new store openings over remodeling, prompting a reduction from the earlier P6 billion budget. New distribution centers in Ormoc and Zamboanga will support this push.
“Richard’s steady hand and strong relationships with our partners will help carry PSC into its next chapter,” Paterno said.
