Eastern Communications is ramping up its expansion across Mindanao, spotlighting its growing role in catalyzing digital transformation in the country’s emerging business centers.
The telco is set to officially launch services in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte on Tuesday, followed by General Santos City in the third quarter. These rollouts are part of Eastern’s broader strategy to strengthen its footprint in high-potential regional hubs, boosting local economies through enhanced digital connectivity.
To support this expansion, the company is leveraging its Dense Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (DWDM) Network, a next-generation ultra high-capacity backbone capable of delivering terabit-per-second (TBPS) bandwidth. This infrastructure allows for scalable, secure, and resilient connections that can adapt to demand and seamlessly link key islands nationwide.
Beyond connectivity, Eastern is also investing in community upskilling initiatives. Through programs like “Access Eastern” and “Brown Bag Sessions,” the company offers workshops and panels aimed at equipping local IT professionals and leaders with tools to thrive in the digital economy.
