Globe Telecom has expanded its LTE capacity in the Batanes Islands, delivering high-speed mobile data to residents and tourists through upgraded network sites powered by alternative and innovative transport technologies.
The enhancement is part of Globe’s strategic push to improve connectivity in remote areas, addressing rising demand for reliable mobile internet in the geographically isolated northern province.
“This initiative underscores Globe’s unwavering commitment to digital inclusion,” said Joel Agustin, Globe’s head of service planning and engineering. He emphasized that the improved infrastructure brings urban-grade mobile services to one of the country’s remotest regions.
The faster, more stable connection is expected to support online education, e-commerce, digital entertainment, and essential communications, while also fueling local economic activity, tourism, and business development.
