Grab Philippines and MOVE IT have launched a multi-pronged disaster relief initiative to support communities and transport partners impacted by the recent intensified southwest monsoon that displaced thousands across Luzon.
In coordination with local government units and national agencies, the initiative delivers immediate aid and long-term recovery efforts for Grab’s driver-partners, delivery riders, merchants, and consumers. Grab Philippines managing director Ronald Roda emphasized the platform’s expanded role during crises, saying, “We are fully mobilized to support our partners and the broader public in this time of need.”
Key corporate support measures include:
Calamity Assistance: One-time financial aid for driver- and rider-partners with flood-damaged vehicles.
Medical Coverage: Emergency and hospitalization expenses covered via Cocolife for typhoon-related injuries.
Loan Repayment Holiday: Temporary suspension of microloan payments in Metro Manila, Baguio, and Pampanga.
The reactivation of the GrabCare and MOVE IT Malasakit programs underscores Grab’s broader community role while helping stabilize mobility and delivery services during post-disaster recovery. Grab’s Emergency Response Unit remains on standby, supporting real-time crisis incidents involving transport partners or passengers.
Beyond immediate aid, the initiative enhances Grab’s commercial resilience while reinforcing its public image as a responsible mobility platform deeply integrated in local communities.
