Pacific Online turns profit in 1H

Pacific Online Systems Corp., a key provider of lotto services to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, reported a net profit of P28.4 million in the first half of 2025, marking a significant turnaround from the P560,974 net loss posted during the same period last year.

Despite flat revenues of P258.9 million for the January-June period, the company managed to lower costs and expenses by 6 percent, totaling P235.7 million. This decline was driven by reductions in personnel expenses, communications, travel, entertainment, professional fees, and taxes.

Operating income saw a remarkable increase, tripling to P23.2 million from P7.2 million in the previous year.

The company also saw a boost in other income, which rose to P15.5 million, compared to a net loss of P3.5 million in other charges last year. This increase was largely attributed to P11.5 million in dividend income and reduced interest expenses.

The strong performance reflects Pacific Online’s ability to control costs and improve profitability despite flat revenue growth, positioning the company for a more stable financial future in the coming months.
