Foodpanda Logistics Philippines has distributed over P2.5 million in relief aid to more than 5,000 partner riders impacted by recent severe weather disturbances, including the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat) and successive typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong.
Affected riders from Metro Manila, Pampanga, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and other hard-hit areas received assistance. The company is preparing to expand relief efforts to more regions, including Northern Luzon.
“This is when the Bayanihan spirit truly shines,” said Ron Sanders, rider experience lead at Foodpanda Logistics. “We are committed to helping our riders recover from these devastating floods.”
The policy move highlights corporate responsibility in disaster response, particularly for gig economy workers who are highly vulnerable during extreme weather events. Foodpanda emphasized rider safety during the storms, temporarily suspending deliveries in high-risk zones and encouraging customers to support riders through tips, which go directly to them.
Foodpanda also contributed to local relief efforts, delivering over 250 meals to Quezon City DRRMO personnel during emergency operations. “We want to support those who are helping others,” said Lew Lopez, Foodpanda Philippines public affairs director.
Foodpanda Logistics manages delivery operations through accredited partner riders nationwide.
