Team Liquid PH wins MSC Crown; KarlTzy solidifies GOAT claim

After a three-year wait, the MSC (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup) trophy is finally back in the Philippines.

Team Liquid PH delivered a stunning comeback to dethrone defending champions Selangor Red Giants (SRG) on Sunday night in Saudi Arabia, clinching the championship in a dominant 4–1 series win.

SRG, the esports arm of Malaysia’s Selangor Football Club, struck first blood in the best-of-seven finals. Game 1 saw the Filipinos on the back foot, seemingly overwhelmed by SRG’s early momentum. But that defeat lit a fire under Team Liquid PH, who stormed back to take the next four games—each more decisive than the last.

Asked in a post game interview whether he could now claim being the GOAT, KarlTzy replied tersely: “Yes.”

In Game 4, with a 2–1 series lead, TLPH dismantled SRG in just over 10 minutes—blazingly fast by MLBB standards—racking up 19 kills to just 3 deaths. The Red Giants—which had 2 Filipino imports in its roster and a Filipino head coach–simply had no answer to the Filipinos’ speed, synergy, and skill.

Team Liquid PH took home the MSC trophy and a cool USD1 million from the USD3.01 million prize pool. SRG settled for USD500,000.

For Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, it was a crowning moment. Already a four-time MPL Philippines champion and owner of two world championship trophies, this elusive MSC title completed his set—cementing his status as the greatest MLBB player of all time.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Sanford Marin Vinuya was named Finals MVP for his relentless performance throughout the series.

Onic PH also gave Filipino fans more to cheer for, defeating sister team Onic Indonesia to claim third place and USD250,000.

It was a night of redemption, dominance, and history—Team Liquid PH’s victory wasn’t just a win. It was a legacy sealed.
